BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Berry College volleyball team earned a 3-0 victory over Rhodes College in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Quarterfinals on Friday afternoon, advancing to the tournament semifinals tomorrow.
With the win, Berry improved to 24-5 overall. Rhodes closed its season at 10-17.
The Vikings claimed the opening set 25-20, hitting .156. Rhodes gained momentum in the second set, but the Vikings pulled ahead late to win 25-21. Set three was also 25-21.
Emily Hancock led the way offensively, earning 13 kills with a .222 hitting percentage. Peyton Breissinger followed with 10 kills and 21 digs. Carson VanCampen posted eight kills for a .389 hitting percentage and six blocks. Jordan Leitch led the offense with 34 assists and five kills.
The team will play the winner of #3 Hendrix and #6 Centre tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. EDT.
