SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The No. 4 Berry College volleyball team fell behind 2-0 against Heidelberg on Friday night, but claimed the final three sets to open the Wittenberg Fall Classic with a 3-2 victory. The Vikings are now 7-1 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Emily Hancock, Carson VanCampen and Peyton Breissinger led the Berry offense with VanCampen and Breissinger claiming 14 kills with 15 from Hancock. Emily Rapach earned 34 assists.
- The Vikings attack couldn't find its footing in the opening set, falling 25-16 and hitting just .073.
- Heidelberg claimed set two 26-24.
- Berry's blocking game stepped up in the final three sets as the Vikings earned nine total blocks for the match.
Berry takes on No. 14 Wittenberg and No. 21 Ohio Northern today at noon and 4:00 p.m.
