NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced the All-Region honorees for the 2018 indoor track & field season, with Berry's Tucker Smith, Abby Carroll and Genesis Leggett earning recognition.
Smith, a freshman from Leesburg, Ga., earned honors for the pole vault. He set a personal record of 4.55m at the Sewanee Indoor, winning the event for his best mark of the season.
Carroll, a sophomore from Williamson, Ga., earned recognition in the 5,000m run after posting a career-best 18:15.09 and taking third place in the event at the ETSU Indoor meet.
Leggett, a sophomore from Live Oak, Fla., was All-Region in both the shot put and weight throw, earning personal bests in both events this year. She qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship in the weight throw, with a school-record toss of 17.09m. She also tossed a personal-best 13.31m in the shot put at ETSU.
