ATLANTA — The Berry College men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams landed 13 student-athletes on the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) All-Conference list, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Brooke Boyd and Haley Brown earned All-SAA first-team recognition on the women’s team. Boyd finished first in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:16.96, defending her championship title. She also took second in the 500-yard freestyle. Brown placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a national qualifying time of 51.35. She also landed on the podium in the 50-yard freestyle, taking silver with a school record time of 23.86.
Sarah Pierce earned All-SAA second-team after her second place finish in the 200 butterfly with a school record time of 2:09.00.
Josie Hadaway, Sydney Ragsdale and Lily Jenkins rounded out recognition on the women’s side, earning All-SAA honorable mention. Ragsdale, Jenkins, Hadaway and Brown took third in the 400-yard medley relay.
Dylan White, Cyrus Nabavi, Bo Dyar, Jackson Parker and Michael Bemis earned All-SAA first-team recognition for the men. White, Nabavi, Dyar and Bemis had a first-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:51.61. White also had an individual first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and a second place finish in the 200 backstroke. White’s 100-yard backstroke time of 50.4 broke the SAA conference record. Bemis earned first in both the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle.
Cory Mullins and Laramie received All-SAA second-team honors. Mullins placed second in both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly. The men’s 200-yard freestyle relay of Sellers, Dyar, Parker and Bemis touched second with a time of 1:25.06.
