Brown Earns All-America, Vikings Make History at NCAA Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS — The Berry College women's swimming team continued to make history as they wrapped up competition at the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming & Diving National Championship today.

Senior Haley Brown became the first Viking ever to earn a spot in the consolation finals and All-America Honorable Mention honors after posting a 51.14 prelim time in the 100-yard freestyle. She then swam a 51.30 in the finals for a 13th overall finish. 

The relay team of Brown, Maggie Hogsed, Brooke Boyd and Sarah Pierce placed top-20 in the 800-yard freestyle with a time of 7:41.14, as the group became the first from the women's program to compete at nationals. 

The ladies also competed in several other events, swimming strong and representing Berry well.
