Women's Soccer Nets Seven Goals in Sunday Afternoon Shutout

ROME, Ga. — The Berry College women's soccer team improved to 3-1-0 on Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 rout of visiting Wesleyan College. 

Six different Vikings found the back of the net in the outing including Allie Bertany, Carson Gilliam, Kirbi Mathews, Kaitlin Ramsey, Vanessa Belanger and Emma Kochanowski

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The match was scoreless into the 34th minute before the flood gates opened. Belanger scored an unassisted shot to put Berry on the board. 
  • Ramsey then scored off passes from Haley Stewart and Bertany in the 36th minute to make it 2-0 at the half. 
  • Early in the second half, Berry found the back of the net four more times to secure the victory. 
  • The Vikings fired 36 total shots and held Wesleyan to just a pair of shots.
