ATLANTA – In exclusive voting by head coaches of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), the Berry College women’s lacrosse team rounded out the season with three players on the All-Conference teams.
Shadae Williams led the Vikings, earning the sole All-SAA First Team honor. Keiley Ayers was named to the All-SAA Second Team, and Rose Blanchard earned the final Berry accolade on the All-SAA Honorable Mention Team.
Williams, a senior from Kennesaw, Ga., was named an All-SAA First Team defender following a standout season for the Vikings. On the year, Williams scored 19 times and passed two assists. She also scooped 50 ground balls, won 34 draw controls and caused 26 turnovers for Berry, leading the Vikings on both offense and defense.
A senior from Yellow Springs, Ohio, Ayers earned a spot as an All-SAA Second Team midfielder. A three-time all-conference honoree, Ayers scored 26 goals and passed four assists for Berry this year. She also finished the season with 43 ground balls, 81 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers, rounding out the year with four hat tricks, as well as two four-goal contests.
Blanchard, a sophomore from Bloomington, Ill., earned the final all-conference award for Berry, as she was named an All-SAA Honorable Mention midfielder. Blanchard scored 26 goals for the Vikings this season. She also scooped 27 ground balls, won 30 draw controls and posted an 86.7 shots on goal percentage for Berry, leading the Vikings to a 4-11 season.
