Hoag, Sheppard Each Shoot 81 to Lead Lady Vikings In Final Round of Fall
Berry's Chelsea Hoag and Lacey Sheppard each shot 81 and teammate Nikki Cline carded an 82 to lead the Lady Vikings on the final day of the Rhodes Fall Classic at The Links at Cottonwoods in Tunica, Miss., Monday.
Berry finished the event with a 36-hole score of 685 after following Sunday's 351 in the first round with a 334 Monday. The Lady Vikings finished seventh in the field.
Sheppard finished with Berry's low tournament score, shooting 81-81-162 to tie for ninth place. Cline finished tied for 19th at 86-82-168, one stroke better than Hoag, who shot 88-81-169 and tied for 21st.
Centre's Emily Bachert won the individual medal, shooting 73-77-150, five strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.
Centre won the event by shooting 323-314-637, 16 strokes better than second place Illinois Wesleyan. The Titans shot 337-316-653. Birmingham-Southern was third at 327-330-657, while Texas-Tyler (341-318-659) was fourth and Rhodes (339-334-673) and Bethel (334-339-673) tied for fifth.
The event concludes Berry's fall season. Berry will tee off its spring season Feb. 20-21 at the Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational.
