DALLAS — Two Vikings scored double-digits as the Berry College women's basketball team dropped the opening game of the UT Dallas Classic on Friday night to Concordia (Tex.) 60-51. With the loss, Berry falls to 4-7 on the year. Concordia improved to 4-8.
Alex Weems led Berry with 19 points on 6-for-13 shooting. She was also 7-for-9 at the line with eight rebounds. Eveline Parsons contributed 13 points off the bench and was 3-for-5 from distance.
The Vikings dug themselves a hole early, trailing 15-9 at the end of the first quarter. A stronger second period cut the lead to one by halftime, but Berry was outscored 34-26 in the second half.
