Rebecca Murray

Murray began as the Vikings assistant softball coach in 2024.

In her first season as a Viking, Murray helped the Vikings to a 33-13 record with a 13-2 mark in conference play. Those marks won the Vikings their fourth consecutive SAA Regular Season Championship under the guidance of Murray. Murray also helped to lead the Vikings to an SAA Conference Tournament victory. She coached eleven All-SAA talents and an SAA Pitcher of the Year, Hannah Gore. The Vikings also competed in the NCAA Tournament where they picked up one win.

Murray arrives at Berry after serving a year as an assistant coach under newly hired head coach, Meredith Mills, at Greensboro College. Murray helped lead the Greensboro Pride to a 28-15 overall record in their 2024 campaign.

During her time at Greensboro, Murray coached a USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Year, multiple USA South All-Conference selections, and multiple NFCA Academic All-Americans.

Prior to Greensboro, Murray played collegiate softball at Elon University where she earned All-CAA honors in her time there. In her senior season, she led Elon in batting average, runs, hits, and doubles. In her graduate year, she transferred to North Carolina State University where she started in all of the Wolfpack’s 53 games as a key contributor to the outfield.

Outside of her work on the field, Murray has earned her stripes academically as well. She earned a BA in Psychology from Elon University. Following that, she obtained a Graduate Certificate in Leadership Management from North Carolina State University. Murray then capped off her academic career at the University of South Carolina with a Masters in Coaching Education and a concentration in Mental Performance.
