Men's and Women's Cross Country Third at SAA Championships

HAMPTON, Ga. – Both the Berry College men's and women's cross country teams earned third place finishes at the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships on Saturday morning  

For the men, Rhodes took first place, with nearly a perfect score. Centre was close behind. For the women, Centre took the title, with Rhodes taking second.


• Captain Alainna Chretien took 3rd and claimed a PR.
• The women's team had several personal records and bests, taking third with 57 points, with Centre in first with 34 points and Rhodes in second with 48. 
• Sophomore Brayden Fulton led the men, placing 12th.
• The men's team placed 6 in the top 20, scoring 78 points. 


• The men had a tight pack, with a time difference of 26 seconds between the 1st and 5th runner. 
• Fulton ran a 28:00.9, receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention.
• Senior Rhett Butler also received Honorable Mention, coming in second for the Berry men and running a 28:03.5. 
• Matt Towe earned a PR with a 30:52.6.


• Chretien ran a PR of 22:35.9, taking First-Team All-Conference.
• Abby Carroll also took First-Team All-Conference with a time of 23:04.1.
• Sophomore Meredith Herman earned a PR with a 23:36.1, placing 7th and earning Second-Team All-Conference
• MaryBeth Rowland ran a seasons best of 25:41.8.
• Elise Barron earned a PR with a 25:36.8.

The Vikings will be racing at the NCAA DIII Regionals in Newport News, Virginia.
