NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Berry College track & field team wrapped up competition at the NCC Gregory Final Qualifier yesterday, as several Vikings hoped to improve on their marks for a spot at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championship.
Several Vikings put in strong performances, including senior Bethany Terpin who closed her collegiate career with a second place finish in her heat of the women's 5,000m. Also from the women's team, Genesis Leggett set a new outdoor school record in the women's shot put with a toss of 12.99m, earning second in the event. She also claimed fourth in the discus. Fellow thrower and senior Alexa Bilsky earned first place in the women's javelin with a toss of 38.08m.
On the men's side, Jordan Wilson earned a top-10 finish in the 400m dash. Berry's Will Knowlton, Cameron Bensley and Parker Roberts put in solid times in the men's 1,500m. Knowlton led the Vikings, placing 12th.
The NCAA is expected to release the championship field tomorrow.
