Men's Soccer Places Five on All-SAA Teams

ATLANTA — The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has officially announced the 2018 SAA men's soccer All-Conference honorees with five Vikings earning recognition.

Berry's Alec Jones and Jake Williamson earned first-team honors. Second-team selections included Steven Moore and Caleb Ford with Carson Oakes earning All-SAA honorable mention.

Jones, a senior defender from Griffin, Ga., earned his second-straight All-SAA first team nod after helping the Vikings to a 10-5-2 overall record. Playing the majority of time at center-back, Jones scored a goal and passed two assists this season, leading Berry to a 1.30 GAA.

Williamson, a junior forward from Roswell, Ga., also earned his second-straight All-SAA first team nod. He ranked second in the SAA at the end of the season with 12 goals and led the league with seven assists. 

Moore, a senior forward from Warner Robins, Ga., earned his fourth consecutive spot on the All-Conference list and second on the All-SAA first team. Moore was tied with Williamson with 12 goals this season. 

Ford, a senior midfielder from Black Mountain, N.C., earned his fourth All-SAA selection and second consecutive first team honor. Ford competed in 12 games prior to injury, earning 11 starts. 

Oakes, a senior goalkeeper from Odessa, Fla., was selected to the All-SAA honorable mention squad for the second straight season. He posted career-bests in goal in several categories, including wins, saves and save percentage.
