ROME, Ga. — The Berry College men's lacrosse team shut down Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rival Oglethorpe University on Tuesday night 21-2. The win improves Berry's record to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in league play.
Berry's Justin Westbrook set a program record with 11 assists and 14 points in the outing. Chris Berchock was also a standout for Berry, scoring five goals to become the SAA's All-Time leading goal scorer. Riley Brogdon earned the win in cage, collecting four saves.
Oglethorpe made it interesting early, fighting to a 2-2 tie with just under 10 minutes to play in the first quarter. Berry then went on a 19-0 run the rest of the way to take control.
The Vikings close the regular season at Birmingham-Southern on April 13.
