After spending three years playing and teaching professionally, former Berry golf team member Jason DeJiacomo returned to Berry College as the Vikings’ graduate assistant coach in the summer of 2011.

DeJiacomo comes back to Berry after spending a year in construction management.  Before that he spent three years bouncing around many professional golf tours and teaching golf lessons.  DeJiacomo returns to his alma mater with extensive knowledge of the game and the desire to share this knowledge with the upcoming Berry golf teams.

During DeJiacomo’s collegiate playing career, the Jasper, Ga., native earned All-Conference honors in the Southern States Athletic Conference, and also earned All-Tournament honors at the NAIA Region XIII Championships, both as a junior and senior.  DeJiacomo helped lead Berry to four appearances in the NAIA National Championship and capped off his senior season by leading his team to victories in both the conference and region tournaments and on to a fifth place finish in the NAIA National Tournament.

DeJiacomo enrolled at Berry after an excellent junior golf career in which he helped lead Pickens High School to a Region Championship and a fifth place finish in the Class AAA state title.  In 2003, DeJiacomo earned a place on the Class AAA State Championship All-Tournament team.

While continuing his playing career, DeJiacomo also began his coaching career, serving as the volunteer assistant coach for the Pickens High School girl’s golf team and as a coach at Berry’s annual summer camps.

DeJiacomo, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management from Berry in 2007, is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.
