NORMAN, Okla. — The Berry College men's golf team jumped to No. 21 in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll following a dominant outing at the Rhodes Spring Classic.
Berry sits behind Southern Athletic Association (SAA) rivals No. 19 Rhodes and No. 20 Oglethorpe.
The Vikings shot a NCAA DIII era program record 19 under at the Rhodes College Spring Classic, claiming the top spot in a strong field. Berry’s Wesley Heston took first individually, shooting 10 under. Heston (72-68-66 – 206) was followed closely by Preston DeSantis who finished second with eight under (67-71-70 – 208). Henry Jones tied at fifth with a five under three-round score (73-69-69 – 211). Peter Trask rounded out the Vikings in the top-15, going even 74-70-72 – 216.
Berry opens the SAA tournament in Dickson, Tenn., on April 26-28.
