DICKSON, Tenn. — The Berry College men's golf team claimed second at the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships, the team's third runner-up finish in four years. The women's team jumped one spot to third place on the final day.
Wesley Heston led the men's team, shooting three-under par (73-71-69 — 213) for the tournament to earn second place. Preston DeSantis jumped three spots on day two to tie for third with a one-over three-round score (72-74-71 — 217). Henry Jones also finished in the top-10 with a five-over score, jumping four spots on the final day (74-75-72 — 221).
Karley Hammond rose four spots with a four-over round today to finish tied at eighth (86-76-77 — 239) individually. She was followed by Chloe Wegienka at 10th (79-80-83 — 242). Morgan Collins finished 12th (78-82-83 — 243) followed by Allison Smith and Jorie Hodapp at 16th who rose eight and seven spots, respectively on the final day.
Both teams await potential at-large selections to the NCAA Championships.
