Men's Basketball Earns 69-63 Win at Sewanee, Snapping Tigers' Streak

SEWANEE, Tenn. — The Berry men’s basketball team snapped Sewanee’s 18-game home winning streak, one of the longest in NCAA DIII, on Friday night in a 69-63 victory over the Tigers. Four Vikings scored double-digits in the contest, led by Elijah Hirsh with 22 points.

Hirsh came just short of his ninth double-double of the season, securing nine rebounds. Ethan Clark and Caleb Haynes each added 11 points while Myles Moore scored 10. 

Hirsh led the Vikings in the first half with 11 points and six rebounds. The Vikings were 100% in free throws going into the locker room, with Caleb Dallimore, Myles Moore and Ethan Clark all going 2-for-2 from the line late in the opening period. Berry carried a narrow 29-27 lead at halftime. 

In a higher-scoring second half, Ethan Clark was 2-for-3 from three point range and Cory Johnson added a pair from distance as well. Caleb Haynes added six points in the paint and had seven rebounds. The Vikings were near perfect at the free throw line all night, shooting 22-of-26 from the line. Berry has won their last six Southern Athletic Association (SAA) games.

Myles Moore: 10 PTS, 7-for-10 FT, 7 REB, 4 AST, 1 BLK


The Vikings travel to Centre College on Sunday for a 3:00 p.m. tip in a highly anticipated contest between the top two teams in the league.
