Football Jumps to No. 10 in AFCA Coaches Poll

WACO, Texas — The Berry College football team continued to rise to historic heights in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division III Top 25, now ranked a program-best No. 10 in the latest poll. FULL RANKINGS

Berry is ranked No. 13 in the poll.

The Vikings are now 8-0 on the season and 6-0 in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) after a 28-21 overtime victory over Millsaps College on Saturday. The win pushed Berry's winning stream to 23-straight regular-season games and 15-straight victories at Valhalla Stadium. Berry needs just one more victory to secure their third consecutive SAA title and another trip to the NCAA playoffs.

The Majors brought the No. 1 defense in the SAA to Valhalla on Saturday and it showed through most of the game. Berry trailed 14-6 until late in the fourth quarter when Bryson Lamboy recovered a Millsaps fumble and returned it 44-yards for a score to help tie the game. With the help of 160 rushing yards from Joey Connors, the Vikings secured the overtime victory.

Berry will host Birmingham-Southern on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. for the team's senior day game.
