ROME, Ga. - The Berry College Hunt Seat team finished the season with another win and closed out its perfect season.
The final show of the season was hosted at Berry College's Gunby Equine Center. The Vikings won the show with 41 points. The University of Alabama was second with 26 points.
The day started off with Madison Harris placing third in Open Equitation.
Autumn Clarke was the next rider for the Vikings and placed third in Intermediate Equitation.
Clarke placed first in Open Over Fences and Harris placed fifth. Intermediate Over Fences hadKristin Brennan finishing second. Novice Equitation was split into four sections due to its size. Section one had Ivey Herrington placing third and Katie Doran placing fifth.
Section two continued with Katherine Kratina earning her first blue ribbon with a first-place finish and Sarah Escaro placing fifth. In third section, Kacky Gianturco walked away with a win. Amanda Peterson placed third.
Novice Over Fences was split into three sections due to its size. The first section had Mallory Hammer and Rachel Shin placed first and second respectively. In section two, Jessica Tabb added to the ribbon count with a win, and Ali Jones finished in reserve. The last section had Kratina placing fifth.
Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter Kelsey Cain made her debut in this division and won her class.
The last rider of the day was Rachel LeRoy in Walk/Trot who won her class to finish the season for the Vikings.
Berry advances to postseason action with the regional show March 2nd at the Gunby Equine Center. This show is for riders who pointed out of a division this year into a higher division.
The hunt seat team will advance to Zones with a number-one ranking in the region. Individual riders will qualify for Zones if they place in the top two riders at regionals.
