HILTON HEAD, S.C. - On a sunny Tuesday morning, the Berry College women were tasked with competing against Fairmont State University, a Division II institution from Virginia.
The women were prepared against difficult competition, and fought point for point. Despite a 0-7 overall loss, standout performances from
Maggie Cox at third singles and
Paige Evans at fourth singles showcased Berry College's tenacity, with matches lasting several hours. The women focused on staying aggressive, taking the net, and maintaining a strong mental state even when faced against stronger opposition.
This experience will only strengthen the women as they continue their matchplay this Thursday at Hilton Head, SC.
