BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Berry College men's and women's track and field teams had a record breaking performance on Friday and Saturday on the road. The Vikings returned to the oval after having the last two scheduled meets canceled due to weather across the South, competing at two different meets hosted by UAB.
The Men were led over the weekend by Senior Ethan Smith's new school record in the 600m. Smith finished 10th overall running a 1:24.77 in the rarely held event, besting the previous record by over four seconds held by Braydon Fulton from 2019. In the Men's Pole Vault, Freshman Andrew Popp jumped to a new lifetime PR of 4.35m moving him up to #5 All-Time on Berry's Indoor list and he is the current leader in the SAA. Sophomore Corbin Dutcher put together solid races in the 200m and 400m over the weekend, both with new indoor PR's. Likewise, Junior Bryson Hill had a double PR day on Friday with new best marks in both the Shot Put and the Weight Throw.

Dawson Livingston, the defending SAA champion in the Weight Throw opened up his season with a 15.62m toss, well off his PR from last year but still good enough for #2 in the SAA.

Ethan Smith, Tommy Bourdreaux, and
Berkey Powell ran a season opening race and time that ranks them #2 in the SAA so far this season.
The Women were led by Senior
Macy Murdock who broke her own Berry Indoor school record in the 400m with a 59.11 which is currently #2 in the SAA. Freshman
Laney Ray competed in the 600m race to add her name to the record books with a time of 1:44.97. Freshman teammate
Kaitlyn Sunderhaus ran 1:47.77 in the same event to move to #2 All-Time on the Indoor list for the 600m.
Two-Time All-American, JR
Onoyeme Egure opened up her Indoor season, taking 4
th overall in the Shot Put with a throw of 13.26m which tops the SAA leaderboard and is currently ranked #22 in the Nation for D3. Senior
Anna Ayers ran to a lifetime PR of 10:26.42 to finish 4
th overall in the 3000m, a time that is currently #2 in the SAA. Distance and SR class teammate,
Leine Burke added a new lifetime PR of her own in the Mile, running 5:39.30 while still recovering from an early season injury.

Kris Williams finished 11
th overall in the High Jump with a season best of 1.55m, moving her up to #3 in the SAA so far this season.
Junior Madline Campbell threw a new lifetime PR of 13.22m in the Weight Throw, good for #7 in the SAA.
The Vikings have one more weekend of competition before competing at the SAA Indoor Championships on Feb 27-28
th at Centre College.
