Men's Track & Field Finishes Third at SAA Indoor Championships

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Berry College men's track and field team finished third out of nine teams at the SAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday. Dawson Livingston led the Vikings winning the Weight Throw and the Shot Put while finishing as the Men's Throw Athlete of the Year. Livingston has won the weight throw all three years he's competed and is the conference record holder after breaking his own school record. The men took third despite only having two individuals as conference champions.

4000m DMR: Ethan Smith, Andy Forsyth, Caleb Pritchett, T Harris - 3rd (10:38.26)
Men's Weight Throw: Dawson Livingston - 1st (17.64m), Bryson Hill - 6th (14.52m), Bryce Toomer - 8th (14.28m)
5000m: Troy Blackwood - 5th (15:24.92)
Men's Shot Put: Dawson Livingston - 3rd (13.92m), Bryce Toomer - 4th (13.91m), Bryson Hill - 8th (13.63m)
Men's Pole Vault: Andrew Popp - 1st (4.20m), Ryan Barch - 6th (3.25m), Liam Jeffries - 8th (2.80m)
Men's 800m: Andy Forsyth - 2nd (1:57.48)
1 Mile Run: Ethan Smith - 4:27.26 (4th), T Harris - 4:27.43 (5th)
400m: Corbin Dutcher - 52.82 (8th)
3000m: Brooks Johnson - 8:51.44 (4th)
4x400 Meter Relay: Corbin Dutcher, Ethan Smith, Andy Forsyth, Berkey Powell - 3:28.56 (4th)

Popp won the Pole Vault and become the first freshman to win the event in the last three years. The Vikings also had several personal records on the weekend with Bryson Hill in the weight throw (14.52m), Brooks Johnson in the 3000m (8:51.44), Braylon Kirkpatrick in the 60m (7:07) and Troy Blackwood in the 5000m (15:24.92).
