Men's Lacrosse Adds Newcomers for 2026 Slate

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Head Coach Curtis Gilbert has announced the addition of his 2026 class for the year ahead.

Davis Witherspoon 
Hailing from Pheonix, Arizona, Davis is a pre-law major that enjoys fishing, golfing, playing video games, and camping. As an Arcadia Titan, Davis excelled on the field with numerous accolades including 2023 Rookie of the Year, 2024 All-State Honorable Mention, All-Tournament Team in 2023 and 2024, senior team captain, and Second Team All-State in 2025. 

Joey Shinkel 
From Littleton, Colorado, Joey is the son of Brandon and Linda Shinkel and is brother to Lexi. In his free time, Joey enjoys spending time hiking, running, and camping. In his time as a Chatfield Charger, Shinkel made the honor roll in 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 and also was Academic All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. 

Clayton Karol 
Clayton is a native of Tampa, Florida, and he is the son of Ken and Adrienne Karol and is brother to Caleb. The business major enjoys golfing, fishing, and playing basketball in his free time. As a J.W. Mitchell Mustang, Karol was a two-time district champion in 2023 and 2025. 

J.P. Lowe 
Jameson is from Charleston, South Carolina, and he is the son of Nicole and Mike Lowe and has a sibling named Kayden. He majors in accounting and enjoys surfing in his spare time. A superstition of his is that he never washes his practice penny because it brings bad luck. As a Wando Warrior, J.P. was in the AP Academy and Beta Club. Athletically, he was a two-time State Champion in 2022 and 2024, and State Runner-Up in 2023. 

Michael Statham 
From Woodstock, Georgia, Michael is an engineering major who enjoys playing guitar, eating food, and drinking chocolate milk. As his pre-game ritual, he listens to the instrumental version of "Never Enough" from The Greatest Showman before each game. In his time at Cherokee Christian, Michael was a member of the Student Leadership Council and made the President's Honor Roll four times. His athletic honors include being a 4x All-State linebacker and slot wide receiver on his high school's football team.  

Tate Mack 
Tate is from Fort Mill, South Carolina, and he is the son of Todd and Kristin Mack and brother to Reese and Abby. The nursing major enjoys working out, hanging out with friends, and watching sports in his free time. As a Fort Mill Yellow Jacket, Tate earned his way into the Beta Club, was awarded the Outstanding Scholastic Performance Sports Medicine Award, and he was a Career & Technical Education Completer in Marketing and Sports Medicine. Athletically, he earned First Team All-District in 2025 and 5A District 3 Honorable Mention All-Region in 2024.  

Christian Casanova 
From Alpharetta, Georgia, Christian is the son of Guillermo and Cleusa Casanova, and he has two siblings named Alexis and Hellen. The dual engineering major enjoys playing pickleball, guitar, hiking, 3D designs, and gaming in his free time. At Innovation Academy, Christian brought in numerous academic awards, including Cum Laude, Magnet Graduate, Dual Pathway, and made the Principal's Honor Roll. Athletically, he competed on his school's lacrosse team.  

Andrew Ingram 
Andrew is from Elizabethton, Tennessee, and he is the son of Eric and Lisa Ingram, and he has two siblings named John and Rachel. He majors in biology and his favorite hobby is spending time outside. Andrew graduated from Providence Academy. 

Carson Wilbur 
Carson is from Marietta, Georgia, and he is the son of Cam and Allison Wilbur, and he has a sibling named Kenley. The business major enjoys disc golf, fishing, and regular golf in his free time. His superstition is that he taps the cage with his stick for good luck. As a Mount Paran Eagle, Carson was a First Team All-region goalie in 2024 and 2025 and also was a First Team All-Region wide receiver and team captain of the football team.  

Griffin Smiles 
Griffin a native of Marietta, Georgia, and he is the son of John and Meredith Smiles, and he has a sister named Audrey. The sports leadership and strategy major enjoys video games, playing pickup basketball, and coaching lacrosse in his spare time. As a Lassiter Trojan, Smiles was First Team All-County and Third Team All-State in his senior season. Griffin also led his team to a state runner-up finish in 2025. 

Quinton O'Connor 
Hailing from Bradenton, Florida, Quinton is the son of Katie and Micheal O'Connor, and he has a sibling named Caleb. The physics major enjoys surfing, skiing, swimming, and running in his off time. As a Manatee Hurricane, O'Connor was inducted into the National Honor Society and Math Honor Society and graduated in the top 10% of his class. A four-year varsity letterman, Quinton won the Nick Pagnotta Award for his team in his senior season.  

Finn Crowley 
A native of Marietta, Georgia, Finn is the son of Brendan and Claire Crowley, and has three siblings named Benjamin, Bella Claire, and Annie. The dual engineering major enjoys mountain biking and fly fishing in his free time. As a Mount Paran Eagle, Finn was a PMI leader and a member of the Spanish Club. On the field, he was First Team All-Region in his junior and senior seasons. He was also Second Team All-Region in his sophomore year. Crowley also played football, where he earned All-Region Honorable Mention in his junior and senior seasons. 

Clement Smith 
Clement is a native of Canton, Georgia, and he is majoring in biochemistry. His hobbies include bowling, working out, and camping. As a Creekview Grizzly, Clement played lacrosse and earned the Lamp of Knowledge and an academic letter. 

Corey Blount Jr.  
Hailing from Savannah, Georgia, Corey is the son of Valencia Austin and Corey Blount Sr, and he has two siblings named Paige and Darryl. In his free time, Corey likes to play games, listen to music, and work out. Corey graduated from Calvary Day School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, high honor roll, and won a senior academic award in literature and Male Faculty Student of the Year. Athletically, Blount Jr. Was First Team All-Region defense in his junior and senior years. He was honorable mention in his sophomore year and also was a region champion in football in his senior season.  

Caleb Brown 
A native of Peachtree City, Georgia, Caleb is the son of Mark and Carla Brown, and he has a sibling named Garrett. Brown is a business major that enjoys playing guitar, golfing, and fishing. As a Starr's Mill Panther, Caleb was a member of the honor roll, Beta Club, National Honor Society, and National Technical Honor Society. On the field, Brown won All-Area Honorable Mention in his sophomore year and All-Area First Team in his junior season. He also helped lead his team to the final 4 in his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons. 

Landon DeCarlo 
Landon's hometown is Charlotte, North Carolina, and he is a business major. His favorite hobby is legos. DeCarlo graduated from Charlotte Christian, where he played lacrosse.
