Baseball Hires Garrett Brown as Assistant Coach

| By:

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Berry's head baseball coach David Beasley has named Garrett Brown as their new assistant coach.

Brown was born and raised in Madison, Alabama, where he fell in love with the game of baseball. His love followed him to the collegiate level, where he spent two years as a starting pitcher at Wallace State Community College – Hanceville. At Wallace State, Brown dominated the mound with an 8-2 record as a starter, 72 strikeouts, and a 3.18 ERA in just over 62 innings of work.

Following a successful stint at the junior college level, the proven winner took his talents to Division I Samford University, where he spent three productive years on the pitching staff as a reliever.  His efforts helped Samford to win the 2021 Southern Conference Championship and he also won the Southern Conference Pinnacle Award, which is awarded to the player on the championship winning team that owns the highest individual GPA.  Brown capped off his collegiate career with a degree in Health Science.

Coach Brown's playing experience stretches into the professional level, where he competed for the Eastside Diamond Hoppers in the United Shore Professional Baseball League from 2022-2024.

As a coach, Brown led Priceville High School in Decatur, Alabama, as their head baseball coach this past year.

Alongside his on-field responsibilities with the team, Coach Brown will also oversee weight room procedures for the baseball program.
