Women's Tennis Falls to Wallace State in Close Game

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Women's tennis team showed strong promise against Wallace State on Thursday. Despite a tough loss 3-4 overall, there were many shining moments on the court for the Viking's home opener. 
 
In singles, sophomore Paige Evans stood her ground in a nailbiter of a match, winning 7-5, 6-2. Evans played an impressive match, pushing through cramping in the second set. 
 
On the doubles side, senior Saris Mejia and sophomore Carolina Hanson locked in a dominant win over the Lions, securing the match 6-2 
 
The Vikings plan to take the courts in the Berry Fall Invitational, kicking off on Friday, 26th. 
 
DOUBLES: 
Saris Mejia and Carolina Hanson defeated Madison Standifer and Jaedyn Martin 6-2 
Paige Evans and Maggie Cox fell to Jayden Johnson and Joslyn Newton 6(5)-7(7) 
 
SINGLES:  
Saris Mejia fell to Jaedyn Martin 0-6, 0-6 
Carolina Hanson fell to Madison Standifer 2-6, 1-6 
Maggie Cox fell to Jayden Johnson 2-6, 2-6 
Paige Evans prevailed over Joslyn Newton 7-5, 6-2 
Sydney Coppola fell to Lydia Lichlyter 2-6, 0-6
