Men's Tennis Faces Tough Battle in Home Opener

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings men's tennis squad faced Wallace State Community College for Berry's home opener. Despite the tough battle, the Vikings fell to the Lions 3-4 overall. 
 
The first doubles team to take the court comprised seniors Aiden Benoualid and Jake Chapman. The relentlessness of this tightly woven pairing proved to emerge victorious, clinching a 7-6 (7-5) victory. 
 
Other highlights from the day included freshman Anderson Lambert prevailing in an impressive 6-1, 6-3 win in his debut match. Another standout Viking performance came from senior Jace Goode, winning 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 against the Lions. Goode displayed sheer determination during the longest match on the court. 
 
The Vikings gear up to make a statement at the Berry Fall Invitational, starting Friday, September 26th. 
 
DOUBLES 
Aiden Benoualid and Jake Chapman defeated Alexander Grube and Nikith Surapaneni 7(7)-6(5) 
Leo Nedkov and Jace Goode defeated Juan Amor and William Johnson 6-4 
Anderson Lambert and Bryce Lepine fell to Jean Badenhorst 4-6 
 
SINGLES 
Jake Chapman fell to Alexander Grube 4-6, 1-6 
Jace Good triumphed over Jean Badenhorst 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 
Leo Nedkov fell to Nikith Surapaneni 4-6, 1-6 
Aiden Benoualid fell to Tom Koepf 2-6, 0-6 
Anderson Lambert defeated Diego Castellanos 6-1, 6-3 
Bryce Lepine fell to William Johnson 6-4, 0-6, 4-6
