LaGrange, Ga. - The Vikings hit the road to close out their weekend road trip on Saturday afternoon, as they finished strong with a convincing 4-0 win over LaGrange, securing their first 2-0 start since 2016.

The Vikings raced out to a strong start offensively, with Giselle Aitken finding space from well beyond the penalty box as she orchestrated a beautiful shot from long range past the outstretched hand of the Panthers' goalkeeper. Just minutes later, Caroline Crimi would score to make it a 2-0 ball game just 8 minutes into the contest. 

After the early offensive flurry from the Vikings, their defense shined bright throughout the course of the first half, limiting the Panthers to zero shots in the first period. 

An outstanding corner kick at the 48-minute mark nearly resulted in points for the Vikings, as they just barely missed an opportunity to extend their lead. Just a few minutes later, Kelsie Crosier sent in a beautiful ball to a red-hot Giselle Aitken, who pulled up and uncorked a long-range shot that blasted the back of the net to extend the lead to 3. Just moments following that, Teresa Rodriguez joined in on the action, as Strickland shared the wealth with her on a textbook free kick that set up Rodriguez to head home a goal to extend the lead to 4-0. 

With the game in hand, the defensive intensity of the Vikings stayed consistent, not allowing the Panthers any room to work offensively, preserving the victory for the Vikings. 

Women's soccer is in action again on September 3 against Emory in Atlanta. Game time is set for 7 PM ET.
