Women's Soccer Takes Care of Business in Season Opener

ATLANTA, Ga. - Women's soccer took to the road to take on the Agnes Scott Scotties in their season opener, where they dominated to win 4-0.

Nicole Knight led the way for the Vikings with a goal and an assist in the wire-to-wire victory.

Early on in the action, the Vikings put an ample amount of pressure on the Scottie defense. Despite not coming out with points in the early stages, Berry's relentlessness was sure to be fruitful in the long run, sending through 8 shots (4 on-goal) in the opening 20 minutes of the contest.

Berry's physical brand of defense led to the Scotties being completely discombobulated throughout the course of the first half. Anytime a gray jersey possessed the ball, they were met by an aggressive navy-blue jersey, waiting to cause a turnover in favor of the Vikings.

With the first half dwindling, Berry's offense found a groove, with Ide Strickland finding Nicole Knight tip-toed her way around the defense and blasted a shot through the back of the net to make the score 1-0 at the 37-minute mark. Just a few minutes later, freshman Adalee Christenson took matters into her own hands and scored a goal to make the score 2-0 as the first half came to an end.

Early on in the second half action, another Viking freshman made her presence known, as Anne Adams delivered a beautiful shot through the back of the net to extend the Berry lead to 3-0.

Already with a commanding lead, Peyton Goolsby found herself open to punch one through the net to put the icing on the cake for the Vikings in a dominant 4-0 win to start the 2025 season.

Women's soccer will be in action again tomorrow to face LaGrange at 6 PM ET.
