Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Aaron Ursin

Men's Soccer Dominates Second Half Against Brevard

MARYVILLE, Tenn. - Men's soccer kicked off their 2025 season with a neutral-site matchup against Brevard, where they turned the heat on in the second half to win it 3-0.

Jack Raulston was terrific in this one, as he produced two goals to lead Berry to victory.

The action was extremely chippy early on, with both sides not giving an inch defensively. A flurry of fouls and cards were awarded in the opening minutes by the referees, halting the natural fast pace of both ball clubs.

Offensively, Berry controlled the pulse of the game with extended possessions and a flurry of shots. Despite not knocking one through the net early on, the offensive pressure put strain on the Brevard defensive line.

With the second half beginning 0-0, both teams were eager to take control of the ball game and pick up wins in their season openers.

Berry found its offensive rhythm in the second half, with a relentless Davis Reiger maintaining his possession despite pressure as he sent a beautiful entry pass to Jack Raulston, who did the rest from just in front of the goal to give Berry a 1-0 lead at the 49-minute mark.

A few minutes later, a beautiful attack led to a Brevard foul inside of the penalty box, setting up a penalty kick for Jack Raulston. The already red-hot Raulston settled in and drilled the penalty kick for another Viking goal, making the score 2-0.

With their foot already on the gas, a breakaway caused by the defense of Daniel Osho led to the Vikings racing down the field, and as fate would have it, a pass from Lucas Stevenson skipped the feet of two Brevard players and found Osho, who sent the ball flying through the net for a 3-0 Viking lead.

Berry then utilized smart ball control and strong defense to salt the game away, leaving them with a 3-0 win in their season opener.

The Vikings will be in action again on Sunday at 12 PM ET as they take on Lynchburg.
