MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Onoyeme Egure has been named 2025 SAA Indoor Field Athlete of the Year after another decorated season as a thrower.
The Fayetteville, Georgia, native was unbelievable at the SAA Championships, where she earned the right to be called champion in shot put for the second straight year. Egure also came in second place in the weight throw to cap off her outstanding showing at the conference championships.
Onoyeme was a force throughout the season for the Vikings, as she set a lifetime PR of 15.05m at the Centre Indoor Showcase. The sophomore also had outstanding showings against various levels of competition at the UAB Green And Gold and the Samford Open 2.
Teammate, Anna Rose was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
Egure has now qualified for the big stage where she will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships in Rochester, New York, on March 14 and 15.
