MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Willa Rose Akins of the Berry College Equestrian team was named ODAC Fences Competition Rider of the Week.

Akins, a sophomore from Columbiana, Ala., competed twice for Berry last week with one competition coming in a single-discipline event against fourth-ranked College of Charleston and the other a dual-discipline outing against third-ranked Auburn University. The Vikings dropped both affairs, 7-3. Akins claimed victory over fences on both occasions. Against the Cougars, Akins earned MOP honors as an away rider in an 86-82 victory over Olivia Lonneman. They rode Oliver in the competition with Akins posting the highest score on his back this season. Versus Auburn, Akins earned a 79-77 win over Baylee McKeever while riding Lancer.
