Men's Lacrosse to Host 10th Annual Faceoff for a Cause

ROME, Ga. – The Berry College men's lacrosse program is set to host its 10th annual "Faceoff for a Cause" event alongside the men's lacrosse programs from Georgia Institute of Technology, Lincoln Memorial University, Reinhardt University, Tusculum University, University of Alabama-Huntsville, and University of Montevallo.

The event is set for Saturday, Oct. 18th from 8:30 a.m.- 5:15 p.m. at Berry College's Valhalla Stadium. The event will feature over 8 hours of scrimmages between the teams as their respective squads look to raise funds for ESP of Rome.

"This is always such an exciting time of the year" Berry's head coach Curtis Gilbert explains, "Everyone is excited to play some Fall Lacrosse but also eager to make a difference in their local communities and esp of Rome is an outstanding organization that actively changes our community for the better."

Since its inception just ten short years ago, the "Faceoff for a Cause" event has raised over $60,000 for various charities, including Wounded Warrior, Samaritan's Purse, Boys and Girls Club, Hilinski's Hope, Ronald McDonald House, Manna Food Bank, HeadStrong, the Harbor House and others.

"We're grateful to all the teams who've supported this event over the past decade, and thankful for the venue and platform that let us highlight the amazing causes we've sponsored," Gilbert said.
"I am equally thankful to have such passionate colleagues that share this opportunity to spread charity and encourage support. I would also like to acknowledge the considerable support from all of the student-athletes, coaches, Referees, family and friends of everyone involved."

Admission to the event is free but donations will be accepted at the gate. All proceeds from the event will be donated to esp of Rome and will create transformative experiences for people with disabilities and their families.
If you are unable to attend on Oct. 18 but would still like to donate, you can do so online by clicking HERE.

Each of the participating seven teams will play two 60-minute games beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the final game of the day wrapping up at 5:15 p.m.
