Vikings Dominate in Three over Millsaps

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings are now 2-0 in the SAA as they commanded a 3-0 sweep over Millsaps today in the Cage.

In their Dig Pink matchup, to raise awarness and funds for breast cancer, the team showcased their dominance from start to finish, taking the match with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, and 25-18.

The Vikings' offense was led by Lura Underwood, who recorded an impressive 15 kills with a double-double, and Bella Boston who chipped in 8 kills. Berry's balanced attack proved too much for the Majors, as they hit .250 as a team while holding Millsaps to just a .078 hitting percentage.

Berry's defense was also rock-solid, led by Lilly Teagle and Lindsey MacDiarmid at the net, contributing to the team's key total blocks. The Vikings consistently applied pressure, forcing Millsaps into numerous errors and taking advantage of every opportunity. Libero Andrea Hurt anchored the back row with steady reception and passing, while also contributing three service aces that helped widen the lead during crucial moments.

The second set was particularly dominant for Berry, as they jumped to a 7-1 lead early and never looked back. Underwood continued to be an offensive threat, while her team backed her and added key plays to keep the momentum firmly with the Vikings. Millsaps struggled to break Berry's rhythm, as their attack faltered under the Vikings' consistency

The final set was a statement of control, with Berry finishing off the Majors 25-18. Lura Underwood closed out the match with several powerful kills, solidifying Berry's place at the top of the conference standings.

Berry will return back to action with their Alumni game on Mountain Day Weekend, next Saturday October 5 against Sewanee.
