LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Vikings claimed a well-earned 2-1 victory over the LaGrange Panthers in a thrilling match at Panther Field.
The Vikings, now 4-3-2, were relentless from the start, showcasing their resilience and skill to outplay the Panthers despite holding just 37% possession throughout the game.
Berry's breakthrough came early when Nate Dulin coolly converted a penalty in the 20th minute, putting the Vikings in the driver's seat. Their defensive discipline, led by goalkeeper Cooper Cherry, kept LaGrange at bay, with Cherry making three crucial saves.
After LaGrange briefly equalized with a penalty from Robel Teshome in the 69th minute, Berry quickly regrouped.
Patrick Kelly delivered the match-winner in the 80th minute, securing his first goal of the season with a superb unassisted cross that found its way to the back of the net.
Berry's efficient attack saw them produce 11 shots, with 5 on target, compared to LaGrange's 8 shots and 4 on target.
The Vikings will be back in action for their first SAA matchup at Sewanee on Saturday, match time set for 7:30 PM.
