BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- Vikings Softball has captured the Southern Athletic Association Regular Season Title with the sweep of BSC, finalizing the series in today's 5-2 victory.
For the third year in a row, Berry Softball has claimed the regular season title as Champion, remaining undefeated in SAA play with an overall 30-3 record.
With
Morgan Frye still being intentionally walked after her two bombs yesterday, it was time for
Katie White to step up and she did just that with three hits and three RBIs in today's game.
It all began with a double to score Frye in the first and capture the 1-0 lead, but BSC came back with an answer of two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead.
With the pressure on Berry, White continued with success in the third with an inside the park homerun that took back the lead that the Vikings held on to.
Anna Jackson also captured and RBI in the inning pushing the score to 4-2.
The final run for Berry came in the seventh and the pitching combination of
Hannah Gore and
Casey Holloway stood strong all day long with a combined 11 strikeouts on the Panthers!
Berry will be back in action on the road in Demorest, Georgia, on Tuesday against Piedmont University.
