MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Berry Men's Lacrosse has earned the right to host the first round of the 2024 Southern Athletic Association Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Berry finished the regular season with an overall record of 7-7 and conference record of 4-2 to be the third seed heading into the tournament.
The Vikings will host Hendrix College at 1:00 PM ET on Saturday for the quarterfinal match. In their last meetup back on March 24th, the Vikings took the close win at 11-8.
Ethan Perlakowski led the way with four goals and five points while
Addison Irwin handled things between the goal with eight saves in the game, earning the win.
The big first quarter lifted the Vikings to victory on the road against the Warriors with a 5-1 lead to start.
For the season,
Michael McKenzie leads the team in goals with 38 and 4 game winning goals while
Jackson Blaylock leads in assists with 22.
Defensively,
Tim Salisbury has 23 caused turnovers against opponents and
Addison Irwin has shined late in the season and earned the honor of being the starting goalie, leading the team with 108 saves and a .519 save percentage.
The winner of the quarterfinal will move on to face No. 2 Sewanee on April 26 in Danville, Kentucky.
