TAVARES, Fla. - Beach Volleyball took on Day Two of the AVCA DIII National Championship, taking down Stevenson in game one but falling in the Championship to UMHB.
In the Gold Bracket, all the Vikings needed to do was take down Stevenson to head to the National Championship, and they did just that! Berry took down Stevenson 3-1 with
Becky Blaydes and
Kaylee Howell being named First Team All-Americans for their performance all year long in the one pair for the Vikings.
Falling in the second pair, Berry was tied at 1-1 but pairs four and five took care of business and were headed to the championship!
After having played UMHB the day prior, the Vikings knew what to expect heading into the match.Â
The first and second pairs fell in the championship match to UMHB, but
Kara Schmit and
Lilly Teagle kept the team alive winning their match! However, pair five fell and the Vikings took second place.
Berry finished the season 16-13 overall and take second in the nation for the second year in a row.
