TAVARES, Fla. - The Vikings went 1-1 on the day to begin pool play at the AVCA Small College National Championship.
The Vikings took on Lynchburg first this morning, clinching the first three pairs for the win at 3-0.Â
Becky Blaydes and
Kaylee Howell took down the one pair while
Andrea Hurt and
Olivia Mallow handled pair five and
Bella Boston along side of Keira Kurk took the third win in the fourth pair to capture the Vikings only win of the day.
Next up, the team took on UMHB, taking them to four sets. The one set win came from the one pair of
Becky Blaydes and
Kaylee Howell taking the team to three in the win. Pair two suffered a tough loss in another three set match.
Despite the loss, the Vikings will take on Stevenson tomorrow at 9:15 AM on Courts B1-B5, if they win they will head to the Championship at 1:00 PM against the winner of UMHB and ETBU. The losing team will play for third place.
