Game One Berry 6Â - St. Benedict 3
Freshman,
Ava Fouts made her appearance as a start in the circle for the Vikings once again.
After two and a half innings of nothing but outs and good pitching by both teams, a single from
Sydney Moroney placed a runner on and a sacrifice bunt from Fouts placed her in scoring position as
Casey Holloway stepped to the plate.
Holloway's single scored a run and a wild pitch by the Bennies placed Ellie Bennett across the plate for a 2-0 Vikings lead.
Saint Benedict took the lead in the top of the fifth with a three-run inning, but
Katie White hit a two-run bomb to secure her team's lead shortly after!
Up 4-3, first baseman
Morgan Frye wanted to continue the fun with another two-run homer for a three-run advantage at 6-3.
Danielle Sudick came in for the save in the circle and the Vikings took game one to make up for their losses.
Game Two Berry 4 - St. Benedict 3
The second game was a bit slower with both team's not being able to score as many runs as they did in the first.
Berry scored all their runs in the bottom of the third and fourth inning with a headline of another
Katie White home run against the Bennies!
