DAVENPORT, Fla. - Berry Men's Lacrosse found a win on the road against Moravian in the sunshine state at 12-8 behind Beirne's three goals.
Addison Irwin started between the pipes for the Vikings playing in the first period, but Moravian got off to a hot start with three first period goals, which were answered by the Vikings leaving the score at 3-3 heading into the second.
That is when
Henry Tynes relieved Irwin for the remainder of the game and captured the win.
The two teams still went back and forth offensively until the Vikings clinched their first lead of the day at 6-5 with a goal by
Michael McKenzie from
Ethan Perlakowski which sent the game to halftime.
After the short break, Berry continued to score and was the lone team to put goals on the board in the third with four (10-5).
With a decent lead, the Vikings never let up with the Michael duo of McKenzie and Beirne sinking the final two goals for their team before Moravian closed it out too late on a 3-0 run that didn't have enough gas to make a comeback.
Defensively, Time Salisbury led the way with three caused turnovers and four ground balls on the game.
Berry Men's Lacrosse stays in Florida for another game hosted by St. Leo against Marymount on March 6 at 1:00 PM ET.
