MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings increased their record to 4-2 with their second series win of the season, this time over the Falcons of Pfeiffer with a 10-1 victory in today's midday matchup.
On the mound,
Jackson Collett earned his first win of the season with three strikeouts and two hits across four innings for Berry.
It was the first inning that downed the Falcons in game three. The Vikings put up seven runs on two pitchers and watched the heads drop of the away team in the process.
Riley Uhls began the scoring with a huge triple that brought in three runs:
Charles Pulaski,
Joey Garcia, and
Levi Cloud.
Austin Jetmore stepped up with an RBI double to bring in Uhls and relieve the Falcons starting pitcher.Â
Up 4-0, the Vikings refused to let up after splitting yesterday's games.
Garrett Lang stepped up to the plate for his first hit of four for the game as he went 4-4 with and RBI off his single to take the game to 5-0.
Tommy Bethel and
Joey Garcia brought in the final two runs of the long first inning as fans were excited to see the scoreboard read 7-0 early on in the cold weather!
Collett was relieved by
Nicholas Angelakos after the fourth and the Vikings saw John Strydom,
Cinch Smith, and
Tyler Cassidy before the close of the game. Berry's defense held their own and did not give up a run until the seventh with an RBI double.Â
However, Berry answered that run in the eighth with two of their own to take the series and the win over the Falcons at 10-1 with two final doubles.
Other Notes:
- Uhls went 3-4 on the day with 4 RBIs and a triple
- Garcia was 4-6 with 2 RBIs, a double, and two stolen bases
- Lang was 4-4 with a double and two runs.
