MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - After much anticipation due to weather, the Vikings were finally able to take action at home and open up their season with two wins against Maryville, 3-1 and 10-2.
Game One:
Hannah Gore claimed her first win of the 2024 season as she started in the circle for Berry.

The Scots continued to get hits but Berry did not allow any more runs on their home field which frustrated the away team.
Danielle Sudick was the saving pitcher, coming in the 6th.
Berry's final run came after a
Katie White double put her on and
Shelby Daniel bunted to get on and advance White. Then, a sacrifice fly by
Anna Jackson scored White and gave the Vikings the two run advantage at 3-1.
Sudick closed out the game seeing eight batters and allowing only one hit while the Vikings soared to a home opening win.

The Scots chance to score in the top of the 5
th to continue play was cut by Holloway and the Vikings claimed victorious.
