MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - After yet another dominant season, the awards continue to pile up for the Vikings, this time from D3football.com with Brandon Cade, Tonny Garcia, Jake Whitten, and Cade Petty being named to the All-Region 3 Team.
Senior running back Brandon Cade continues to make headlines for the Vikings as he was crowned D3football.com Offensive Player of the Year. Cade's 1,081 yards on the ground and 17 rushing touchdowns paced the Vikings this season and was an instrumental part of the offense's success. The Duluth, Georgia, native's 3,953 rushing yards ranks first in school history.
Joining Cade in All-Region 3 First Team Offense is O-lineman Tonny Garcia. Garcia was a difference maker on the interior of the Viking's offensive line. The unit gave up just 12 sacks across all 11 games in the 2024 season, which was the best ratio in the Southern Athletic Association.
The Viking defense was also well-represented on the defensive side of the ball with safety Jake Whitten and specialist Cade Petty. Whitten earned First Team Defense honors with 65 total tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss on the season. The Loganville, Georgia, native anchored a Viking defense that gave up just 17.6 points per contest. Specialist Cade Petty earned Third Team Defense recognition. Petty was everywhere for the Vikings yet again this season, producing two blocked punts and a fumble recovery, while also accumulating 25 total tackles and 2 tackles for loss.
