MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Vikings traveled to Huntingdon College on Tuesday evening, where they would draw even with the Hawks by a score of 1-1.
Men's Soccer found themselves in yet another defensive battle, as the Vikings fell behind after Huntingdon struck first with an unassisted goal from just inside the penalty box.
The Vikings would not blink though, answering late in the first half with a marvelous goal thanks to beautiful teamwork following a Berry throw-in. Pirmin Blattmann sent through a fantastic crossing pass from inside of the penalty box that set up Patrick Kelly to puncture the net from just a few yards out.
The second half brought more physical play, with neither team able to pull ahead. The Vikings showed promise with 14 second-half shots, but just could not find the back of the net. The Berry defenders kept goalkeeper, Cooper Cherry's hands clean in the second half, as he only faced three shots by Huntingdon, leading to the 1-1 draw.
The Vikings will be in action again on October 11 at home against Hendrix College. Game time is set for 7:15 PM ET.
