MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Vikings women's soccer team put on an impressive show at Bob Pearson Field, decisively defeating Shorter University with a final score of 6-0.
From the start, the Vikings controlled the game, capitalizing on their offensive dominance and maintaining strong defensive pressure.
The first half saw Berry take an early lead, with
Ide Strickland scoring an unassisted goal in the 9th minute. Berry kept the momentum, adding another goal in the 24th minute from
Margaret Eddins, assisted by
Caroline Crimi, to make it 2-0 by halftime.
The Vikings came out firing in the second half, with Eli Moraitakis scoring just three minutes in, followed quickly by a goal from
Peyton Goolsby.
Hannah Henn and
Mia Cutler later added goals in the 83rd and 88th minutes, respectively, securing a comfortable victory for Berry. In total, Berry College had an astounding 29 shots, with 19 on target, while Shorter managed just one shot, highlighting Berry's control over the game.
Goalkeeper
Maggie Jones and the Berry defense held Shorter scoreless, marking a strong defensive effort.
This huge win leads the Vikings in to SAA Quarterfinal matchup with Oglethorpe on Saturday at 3:00 PM ET.
