JACKSON, Miss. - Berry Women's Soccer took down SAA opponent Millsaps in tonight's road contest, 2-0.
In a needed win, to continue to sit in the top four of the SAA, the Vikings controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting the Majors 23-3 and keeping Millsaps on the defensive.
Berry's first goal came in the 36th minute when
Margaret Eddins found the back of the net, assisted by
Teresa Rodriguez. The Vikings extended their lead in the second half when Rodriguez scored in the 56th minute, assisted by
Ide Strickland.
Maggie Jones kept a clean sheet for Berry, making one save. Meanwhile, Millsaps goalkeeper faced relentless pressure, making 10 saves throughout the match. Berry dominated possession with 54% and earned 10 corner kicks compared to Millsaps' 1.
Berry returns to Pearson field next weekend for senior day against Oglethorpe University, and their last SAA game of the year.
