Berry's women's tennis team started Southern Athletic Association play on the right foot Saturday at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College, earning an 8-1 victory over Birmingham-Southern in Rome, Ga.
Berry won each of the singles matches and two of the doubles matches.
Juliana Mascagni and
Lauren Masteller were winners at the top doubles line, then each won singles matches in straight sets.
Lacey Craig and
Sakura Manning won at the second doubles spot, then Craig won at No. 3 singles and Manning won at No. 5 singles. Berry's other singles wins came in straight sets from
Olivia Walton at No. 4 and
Angelle Thornton at No. 6.
Berry will be back in action Sunday morning against Millsaps at 9 a.m. at the RTC.
