Berry won two doubles lines and five of the six singles matches to defeat Gettysburg 7-2 Wednesday afternoon in men's tennis action in Hilton Head, S.C.
The Vikings were able to take the first two lines of doubles, with
Noah Koch and
Diego Lopez going to a tiebreak to win at the top line 8-7 (3) to give Berry a 2-1 lead going into singles. From there, the bottom of the Berry lineup helped push the Vikings over the line.
Jake Chapman won in straight sets at No. 4 singles, not giving up a game in the first set of his victory.
Aiden Benoualid also had a big day at No. 5 singles, only dropping three games en route to a win in straight sets.
Berry will be back in action Friday afternoon in Hilton Head against Allegheny College
