MOUNT BERRY, Ga.— Chase Ellis had a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds that led Berry's men's basketball team to a triumph, 92-66, Friday night in The Cage Center.
Bryce Clark was a big scorer for Berry going 3-for-3 in the first half. Clark began a 25-4 run for the Vikings with nine minutes remaining to pull away from the Majors (4-16, 2-8 SAA). Owen Honroth drained a three to bring the score to 48-29 to head into the locker room at the half.
The intensity of the game kept increasing throughout the second half, as the Vikings (19-2, 10-0 SAA) continued to apply pressure on the Majors to keep Berry ahead by double-digits.
The Vikings held a consistent lead throughout the entirety of the game, with the biggest lead being 29 with just under two minutes.
Leading for the Vikings, Ellis scored in the double-digits with 19 points, Blake Campbell with 16. Jake Craft was 3-for-3 from outside the arc with back-to-back in the final minutes of the game.
The Vikings will be back in action on Sunday in Southern Athletic Association play against Birmingham Southern College with a tip-off time set for 3:00 p.m.
